Věra Motyčková, MA participated as a representative of CSITA, registered association in the second Project Meeting of the Horizon Europe project Maximising the CO-benefits of agricultural Digitalisation through conducive digital ECoSystems (CODECS), which took place in a hybrid form at the Spanish University of Almería on 12-14 December 2023.
CODECS was launched on 1 October 2022 and the main objective of this meeting, more than a year after its launch, was to provide an overview of its progress and to analyse the upcoming steps. The event also contributed to networking and strengthening cooperation between consortium partners.
The meeting started with a speech by Angela Guarino from the European Research Executive Agency (REA, who highlighted the key role of digital agriculture in promoting systemic change towards sustainability.
A highlight of the programme was a visit to the demonstration farm at the University of Almería, showing the integration of digital technologies into production facilities and experimental workplaces. The participants of the tour learned practical experiences in the use of digital technologies.
At the meeting, each pilot area (Living Lab) shared their feedback on the first of four workshops that the pilot areas hold each year. For more information on the workshop that CSITA organised in November 2023, visit the Agris portal. At the same time, each pilot area presented at the Living Lab Marketplace their activities and technology solutions for the area and issues in the area – see article on installing sensors and soil properties variability measurement.
CSITA, r. a. as a consortium partner is significantly involved in project activities within the Czech Living Lab, which provides input to all work packages through data collection, analysis, reporting, validation and co-development. CSITA also contributes to the development of the Digital Technology Assessment Toolkit, specifically the User Technology Assessment Tool.
