Locally targeted applications combining precision farming techniques with telematics and data management offer great opportunities in fruit growing. Farmers traditionally work with information about the cultivated variety of fruit, bunch, age, growing form, temperature, leaf wetness and meteorological data. However, studies show that the chemical properties of the soil differ even for a small orchard size. This results in a different distribution of some nutrients in the soil and thus the state of the vegetation, but also, for example, uneven weeding of the plot.
On May 24, 2023, an experimental measurement of soil properties carried out by doc. Ing. Milan Kroulík, Ph.D. of the Technical Faculty at CZU Prague took place at the demonstration farm Bromil s.r.o.. The measured data will enable the analysis of selected attributes in GIS tools. They will also serve to introduce local applications in the orchard and contribute to the shift in the digitalization of fruit production management at the Bromil farm. The results will be presented at the next annual meeting of the members of the Czech living lab organized by CSITA within the CODECS project.
